Mitsubishi is giving a little boost to its portable projector line. The branch known as Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America, Inc. just announced two new DLP models, the WD720U and XD700U.

Designed for a flexible, easy setup, each of the new models features a long-life lamp estimated to last up to 5,000 hours, depending on your operating conditions.

The wide-resolution WD720U and XGA-resolution XD700U are perfect for those in need of a bright projector (up to 5,000 lumens) in a pinch. Thanks to the manual vertical lens shift, users can place the projector on a desk or table, make a few adjustments, and still get a high-quality image—even in a brightly-lit room.

Mitsubishi also says that the new projectors are more energy-efficient, offering user-selectable controls for brightness, as well as a standby mode that uses less than .05 watts of power. There’s also an auto-off function.

Both projects offer HDMI support, an RS-232 serial connector and a built-in RJ-45 input. Each one also has a USB port so you can hook up a flash drive or the optional USB Wi-Fi device to add wireless connectivity into the mix.

Other features include Texas Instruments’ DLP technology, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and a built-in audio mixer for playing audio from two sources.

Mitsubishi says that WD720U and XD700U are available now and come with the company’s three-year limited warranty on parts and labor, and a one-year limited warranty on the lamp. Both are also covered by the Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) Program, a nationwide service that offers next business-day replacement for units that are under warranty. Terms and conditions apply.
